Adding colors to the Painters' Palette


When you open a color reference model for the first time, the Palette window contains a Painters' Palette, containing just the default palette wells (described in Default palette wells):

You can also copy an entire palette into the Painters' palette. For more information, refer to Copying palettes between color models.

Using the color wheel

  1. Choose Tools > Colors to display the ColorChooser window.
  1. Choose a color from the ColorChooser window. (For more information on choosing colors, refer to Choosing colors.)
If you want, you can display a piece of background artwork in the Painting Window so that the colors you choose have some context. For more information, refer to Adding backgrounds.
  1. Drag the color from the color well in the ColorChooser window to a palette well in the Palette Window.
  1. Continue to assign colors until you have created all the colors needed for the character. If you need to, use the scroll bar or enlarge the Palette window to access more palette wells.
